4-H Livestock Judging is for youth in grades 4th-12th. Livestock Judging allows youth to learn how to evaluate cattle, sheep, swine, and goats. Youth will be confident in making decisions based on their knowledge of livestock.
Below is the schedule for all 4-H livestock judging practices. Please note all practices are now being held at the extension office from 4-5pm.
Practices are as follows:
January 12, January 26, February 9, February 23, March 2, March 16, & March 30.
Region Contest: April 6
Poultry Judging is for youth in grades 5th-12th. Youth will learn to grade eggs, grade carcasses, and identify cuts of meat. Poultry Judging practices will be held at the UT Extension Office from 4-5pm. The 2023 Poultry Judging Contest will be held at UT Knoxville on September 16.

Grill Master will be for youth in grades 7th-12th. Youth will learn food safety and proper cooking techniques for grilling. Youth will have the option to grill beef, pork, lamb, or chicken. All practices will be held at the 4-H Pavilion 280 Bryan Rd. Rutledge, TN 37861 from 3:30-5:00 PM. The 2023 Grill Master Contest will be held on September 19 at the Blount County Extension Office.

Dairy Judging will teach youth how to evaluate a dairy cow based on their structure and mammary system. Youth in grades 5th-12th are welcome to participate in this contest. Practices will be held at the UT Extension Office from 4-5pm. The contest will be at the Tennessee Valley Fair on September 9.
